Questions hosts ask.

Can I choose which films to screen?
Yes. Explore films and discuss a screening with the filmmaker, or agree films with CineConnect as part of a coordinated release. Dates and screening permissions are confirmed before tickets go on sale.
Who sets the ticket price?
You and the filmmaker agree the ticket price when you agree the screening.
How much do I keep?
The share of the door you agree with the filmmaker, night by night: 70% unless agreed otherwise. Our 5% comes from the filmmaker's side, so your share stays whole. At 70%, a ₹300 seat earns you ₹210. You can track ticket sales and your earnings through CineConnect.
Who brings the audience?
You invite your own community. The filmmaker, promoters and CineConnect contribute to promotion as agreed. For a coordinated release, we plan who does what together.
Do I need a cinema or professional projector?
You need a screen and sound suited to your space. A large TV can work for a small Room. Share your equipment details when registering so the setup can be reviewed.
Do I need internet during the film?
This depends on the agreed playback setup. An arrangement can be made to store the film locally and play it from your laptop, so an internet interruption does not disrupt the screening. Confirm film delivery and test playback before the audience arrives. You will need a working internet connection if an online Q&A is arranged after the screening.
Can we have a Q&A with the filmmaker?
A Q&A with the filmmaker or another artist from the film is encouraged, subject to their availability. Agree it in advance; participation can be in person or remotely.
What if very few people book?
Discuss whether to go ahead or cancel before the screening. Attendance is not guaranteed. If the screening is cancelled, no cancellation charge applies to the host or filmmaker, and audience refunds follow the published cancellation and refund policy.
What happens if a screening is cancelled?
No cancellation charge applies to the host or filmmaker. Audience refunds follow the published cancellation and refund policy.
Can I sell tickets at the door?
Yes. You can sell tickets at the door through the CineConnect app, as long as seats are available.
Can my café or venue keep serving food and drinks?
It’s your space, and you are free to run it the way you want, including serving food and drinks. We ask that you respect the film and the audience’s viewing experience, keeping service, noise and lighting suited to the screening.
When do I get paid?
Once tickets have been sold and the screening is completed, your share is recorded in your CineConnect account. You can track and collect your earnings, with payments following the schedule agreed for your screenings.
