For independent filmmakers

Made a film?Release it.

An independent film finishes, and then it waits. Festivals, sales agents and a few platforms decide if anyone sees it.

Bring your independent film to cafés, galleries, film clubs and community spaces—or let audiences watch online with a community, from anywhere. Build a screening journey, reach new viewers and earn from your film.

No listing fee, no exclusivity, no distributor. CineConnect keeps a flat 5%.

What you keep

A ₹300 seat in a room
₹75, after the room's usual 70% of the door and our 5%. You agree the room's share night by night.
A ₹150 seat online
₹142.50. There's no room, so everything after our 5% is yours.
A ₹100 rental
₹95. The same for a purchase.
With a promoter's code
You choose the discount and the promoter's cut, per film. At 10% and 10%, a ₹300 seat sells for ₹270 and you keep ₹40.50.

Questions filmmakers ask.

What rights do I give CineConnect?
Rights to screen your film. You must hold, or be authorised to grant, the relevant rights.
Is it exclusive?
No. We agree which screenings and viewing options CineConnect can offer, and for how long.
Who can see my screener?
Screeners are for submission review. Access for a potential host is subject to your permission and the agreed review process.
Can I choose where my film screens?
Screening locations, formats and dates are agreed with you or your authorised rights holder. You can discuss which Rooms and communities suit the film.
Who brings the audience?
Audience outreach combines the filmmaker’s network, hosts who have their own communities, and any agreed promoter or campaign activity. Promoters can share ready-made film posts, posters and trailer clips, adding their own recommendation and promotion link. A coordinated release defines who is responsible for each part.
Do I have to attend every screening?
An online Q&A with the filmmaker or another artist from the film is highly recommended, but it depends on their availability. A director Q&A is an optional event agreed for a particular screening. Where arranged, participation can be in person or remotely.
Who runs a screening in a room?
The host runs the event in their space. The host, filmmaker and CineConnect agree the film access, technical arrangements and any accompanying activity.
Who pays for promotion and PR?
Films can be screened without a promotion budget, but promotion and social media advertising help. For coordinated screenings with CineConnect, we agree the promotion budget and who pays before the campaign begins. The costs can be covered by you, CineConnect or both. If CineConnect advances funds, we agree how those costs will be recovered from the film’s earnings.
How are earnings calculated and reported?
You can track ticket sales, promotion costs and earnings. Before screenings begin, we agree how ticket revenue is shared, any promoter commissions, discounts, charges and taxes, and when you are paid. In a room, the room keeps its agreed share of the door (70% unless agreed otherwise) and CineConnect’s 5% comes from your side: of a ₹300 seat, ₹75 is yours.
What happens if a screening is cancelled?
The published cancellation and refund policy governs audience refunds. The screening agreement defines how the cancellation affects the filmmaker and host.
Can my film screen internationally?
Yes, where the relevant territorial rights, local screening requirements and venue arrangements allow it. International screenings form part of the agreed release approach.
